Ganglion Cyst

Ganglion cysts can form in the hand, wrist and fingers. These are benign growths. Occasionally they can cause pain as they grow in size. The volume of the cyst can also impede motion in your hands. Excision of the cyst can provide pain relief and restore that lost motion.

What is the treatment for a ganglion cyst?

Initial treatment involves observation after we confirm the diagnosis with X-ray and a clinical expert exam of the ganglion cyst. If the cyst becomes painful as a result of size or your activity level, Dr. Tannan provides nonsurgical options (drainage) and surgical excision as an option, too.
